Come and enjoy 5 nights accommodation, with 6 days of sketching and painting at La Tuiliere. Set on 3 acres of unspoiled, and peaceful land, it can accommodate up to 14 people: 7 bedrooms all en-suite, an extra toilet near the living spaces, a large dining room, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with ample counter space, a large hob and two ovens, and a utility room. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor and four on the first floor. The property benefits from an 11 x 5 metre private heated swimming pool with terrace with a wonderful uninterrupted view over the countryside and vineyards.
The gites are about 20 mins drive from Bergerac airport which has direct links from the UK, and is located about 9km from Eymet in the Dordogne, South West France. It is exceptionally well placed for plentiful local wine tastings, restaurants, chateaux and food stores.
Day 1 When you arrive at Bergerac airport, we’ll be there to meet you and take you directly to your lovely accommodation. After time to settle in, it'll be time for a welcome drink and to run through the weeks activities before you al fresco dine, weather permitting. Below is a sample itinerary, as it's weather dependent!
The hours for each day will be: 10.00 to 12.30 (tuition) 12.30 to 14.00 (lunch break – restaurant lunch will be provided, or lunch will be served at la Tuiliere) 14.00 to 16.30 (tuition)
Day 2 After breakfast, we’ll head to the Chateau de Fayolle vineyard where we’ll spend the morning sketching ideas. Lunch will be at the vineyard, after wine tasting some of their fabulous organic wines. We’ll continue painting after lunch, developing up ideas from this morning. Then we'll return late afternoon to the gite. There will be time to relax before dinner 'at home'.
Day 3 After breakfast, we’ll head to Issigeac to explore this lovely medieval town and sketch, followed by a buffet lunch at la Tuiliere. The afternoon will be spent producing artwork, developing up ideas from this morning, before retiring to your accommodation to relax. In the evening we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at the gite.
Day 4 After breakfast, we’ll head to Château de Pierrail to explore and sketch, followed by a lunch at a fantastic local restaurant. After lunch, we’ll return to la Tuiliere and the afternoon will be spent producing artwork, developing up ideas from this morning, before retiring to your accommodation to relax. In the evening we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at the gite; on the terrace weather permitting.
Day 5 This morning after breakfast we’ll paint all day at la Tuiliere. After a buffet lunch we’ll continue. Following an afternoon of art, we’ll make time to relax before enjoying a fantastic final dinner and farewell ‘drinks at home’.
Day 6 After a enjoying a leisurely breakfast we’ll continue with art work. Then it is time to pack and say goodbye before running you back to Bergerac airport.
For partners, there are 4 golf courses within a 35 minute drive. There are also chateaux to visit and plenty of countryside for walking or cycling. All meals would be provided. Need a birthday cake? We can provide that too!
